Last weekend, the Australian Flatwater SUPfest was taking place – one of the most interesting events on the 2014 calendar which may just have helped to set the standard for a new kind of SUP race format. The Australian Flatwater SUPfest was happening 28th-30th March at the West Lakes Aquatic Centre in Adelaide, South Australia, and as the name suggests was a totally flat affair. The event featured three different races – 200m, 500m and 5,000m – with the entire race being hosted at a rowing/kayaking venue.
Congrats to Fanatic’s Angela Jackson for winning the 500m and the 200m Sprints on her brand new Falcon Flatwater – both, board and rider, performed impressively!
Also Fanatic riders Paul Jackson and Jake Jensen did very well! Paul came in 3rd in the 500m men’s sprint and finished first in the 200m race, Jake took 4th and 3rd place in the two races!
Angela Jackson: “Stoked to start my year with 1st in 200m and a 1st in 500m Aussup Flatwater Sprint Titles. Fanatic 14ft Flatwater was awesome. Now relaxing 40hrs of flying time coming up. Next stop Brazil for first stop on Stand up World Tour!”
Very well done there!!
